Craps - A Dice Game
Craps is a dice game that is becoming very popular in recent years. This game is played against other players or a bank. The origin of craps may date to the Crusades. The history of the game shows that it has been influenced by French gamblers. In this game, the player may wager money against each other, which is known as streets craps, or the player may wager money against bank, which is known as bank craps. The primary difference between the two types of craps is that there is a bank or house to cover bets in bank craps. However, there is no house to cover bets in street craps. One reason for the popularity of craps is its requirement for minimal equipment. Because of this reason, craps can be played in a less formal setting. Although craps is played all over the world in casinos, however, it is most popular among soldiers.
When craps is played outside casinos for recreational purposes, it is usually known as streets craps or private craps. In street craps, the players cover or fade each other bets. In most of the states, if money is used instead of chips in craps, then the game becomes an illegal form of gambling. Interestingly, there are many variations of street craps - like the players can either agree on or roll a number as a point. Therefore, craps provide a great fun time to players without incurring costs for equipment in informal settings.
